In addition to his senior management responsibilities, Randy led Mossy Oak's media company, Hatch Entertainment. An avid outdoorsman, Mike has spent the last 35 years in the sporting goods business. He retired from Cabela's in May, 2008, after an 18 year career where he served in a number of senior executive capacities. His most recent position was as Executive Officer and Sr. Vice President of Business Development and International Operations. This position also included responsibility for Mergers and Acquisitions along with Industry and Government Relations. Mike was a key member of Cabela's 3 man road show team that led to one of the most successful IPO's in the Outdoor Lifestyle industry, raising over $180 million in capital initially and $270 million in a secondary offering. Mike also served as Sr. Vice President of Retail Operations, Brand Marketing and the Outdoor Adventures hunting/fishing booking and travel service. During his time as the executive leader of Cabela's Retail, he oversaw the expansion of the chain from 10 stores to 26 and 1.5 million square feet to 4 million square feet of retail space and 8500 employees in 4 years. Retail sales volume increased from $385 million to $1.2 billion during his tenure. Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors of Bushnell Outdoor Products, is a former Board Member and Chairman of the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation and Vice Chairman of the Outdoor Business Council of the US Sportsmen's Alliance. Mr. Sanderson worked in various positions at Sanderson Farms Inc., (NASDAQ:SAFM), from 1976 to October 2004, when he retired. Mr. Sanderson also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Sanderson Farms Inc. from January 2000 to November 2005. While employed with Sanderson Farms, Inc., Mr. Sanderson worked in every aspect of the poultry business including production, processing, sales and marketing. The last 15 years before his retirement were spent as Sales Manager (May 1994 to May 2000) and then as Manager of Customer Relations (June 2000 to October 2004). During this period of time, the company grew to its current approximately $1.06 Billion Market Capitalization. Mr. Sanderson is a lifelong outdoorsman. As Manager of Customer Relations at Sanderson Farms, Inc., one of his responsibilities was planning and implementing hunts in North America. A major part of that responsibility was making certain that each hunter had the best and most suitable gear for that particular hunt and knew how to use it. Since his retirement he has hunted on several continents with hunters from all over the world. This has allowed him to field test all types of gear and to learn even more about the hunting industry. Jeremy is a registered wildlife biologist (AWB®) with The Wildlife Society. He received his Bachelor's in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Penn State University and worked at the University's White-tailed Deer Research and Breeding Facility for 2 years gaining knowledge and experience on white-tailed deer biology, management and breeding. In 2006, Jeremy worked as a wildlife ecology intern at the Smithsonian Institute where he conducted research on deer home range size and movements, urban deer management and deer-vehicle collisions, harvest rates and habitat management for a variety of game species including bear and turkey, and obtained an extensive background in using trail cameras to manage wildlife. He earned his Master's from Mississippi State University's Wildlife and Fisheries Program with a focus on white-tailed deer management. While there Jeremy excelled in creating some of the most innovative trail camera and whitetail management techniques. His passion to improve deer management led to the development of BuckScore™, a computer program that estimates age and antler size of a photographed deer. He believes in science-based, on the ground management, and feels there is nothing more important than sitting down face-to-face with a landowner and discussing their objectives in order to construct a management plan to reach their specific goals. Outdoor enthusiast, Glen Cunningham, has over 21 years of experience in the outdoor industry. Glen’s career spans both the fishing and hunting industries where he has built brands from the initial concept to the retail shelf. He has extensive knowledge in sales management, camouflage and brand licensing, market research, distribution research and analysis. Glen is the president of Blue Lake Outdoor Group, an outdoor management-consulting firm. His company offers clients planned strategies from product development and sourcing through distribution channels. Prior to his Blue Lake Outdoor Group, Glen worked for JBS Fishing where he was instrumental in the brand development, marketing and distribution of the Vicious Fishing product line. He was a part of the Mossy Oak® sales and licensing department for almost15 years, and also presided over Avery Outdoors, Inc. sales department for close to three years. Glen graduated from Mississippi State University with a BBA degree in Marketing. He is currently a member of NWTF and MS Sportsmen for Catch A Dream Foundation. Greg has been working in the advertising and marketing field for 14 years. In his previous position as Vice President with Keller Crescent Advertising, he was responsible for executive level account management, brand strategy, client relations, new business development, and implementation of brand campaigns, promotions, events and retail programs. While he worked with a wide range of client budgets, from thousands to millions, his accounts made up over 50% of the total agency billings. Carolyn has 27 years of experience in graphic design, public relations, event planning, marketing and market research. She has won numerous awards for her designs through the years and takes pride in her ability to thoroughly understand a product and the characteristics of its target audience when approaching a strategic solution. Carolyn believes the success of her designs and marketing projects is a direct result of effective communication and client relationships. For the past four years, Carolyn has managed her own company, CP Designs, Inc., a graphic design and marketing firm. Her services to clients have included logo and image development, web development and integrated social media, electronic media solutions, marketing plans and execution, product package designs, tradeshow planning and booth development, ad campaigns and extensive event planning. She handled each client with a personal goal of 100% customer satisfaction. Carolyn spent almost 10 years of her career working for Haas Outdoors, Inc. Mossy Oak® brand camouflage. At Mossy Oak® Carolyn served as Manager of Creative Services and went on to become the Manager of Partner Programs, where she developed the Mossy Oak® Base Camp for Partners program, a value-add program developed to enhance their sales and licensing program. While at Haas Outdoors, Inc. she was responsible for all tradeshow strategies and execution for 5 years. Carolyn received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mississippi University for Women. She has been a member of the American Advertising Federation, the Public Relations Society of America and served on the Make-A-Wish board. Currently, Carolyn lives in Pontotoc, Mississippi with her husband Ed. They have one daughter Meghan, who is a junior at Samford University. Born in Webster, Texas and raised in Houston, Texas, Chris Weidner studied filmmaking and screenwriting under the veteran eye of filmmaker Andy Anderson at the University of Texas at Arlington. Chris worked in a variety of roles on a number of films including his writing/directing debut and festival favorite short film, Newlybleds. He wrote and produced his first feature film, My Comfortable Stranger, which found distribution on DVD through Starling Films. Chris followed his passion for film from the big screen to the computer monitor when he started what has since become the #1 Texas filmmaking community website, ShortFilmTexas.com While spending summers on his family’s 19,000 acre ranch in Palo Pinto County, Chris developed a respect and love for the land and wildlife. Over the last several years, Chris has assumed more leadership roles within the Texas Wildlife Unlimited portfolio. He currently serves as Director of Community Development for TexasHuntFish.com, Director of Social Media Strategy for Outdoor Media Services, and is the Editor of the popular Texas Top Picks Newsletter. Heather began her career in advertising in 2007 at Keller Crescent as a Client Service Representative working on the Evan Williams Bourbon, Vicious Fishing and Red Man Moist Snuff accounts. She was responsible for the day-to-day management of her clients including scheduling, client changes, billing, and all other daily internal or external duties associated with her clients. She was in regular communication with clients and agency account management ensuring that all needs were met and that projects were seen through to completion. In 2009, Heather pursued a position with Vincennes Insurance where she was responsible for communicating plan benefits and programs to new and current agency clients. Realizing that she missed the advertising industry, her experience working directly with clients as well as her prior time in the agency business lead her to a position with the Shyne Agency. Heather attended the University of Southern Indiana studying English with an emphasis in Writing and Rhetoric. She was on the Dean’s List and a member of the National Scholars Honor Society. Growing up, Heather always loved horses and spent as much time at the barn as possible. Having showed American Saddlebreds competitively for 10 years, the love of being around the animals and outside was second nature. She still enjoys getting back in the saddle whenever she can. Born and raised in Texas, Luke Sammons has grown up heavily immersed in the outdoor world. Luke has been competing in shotgun shooting sports for 14 years in 4-H Shooting Sports, NSCA Sporting Clays, Sportsman Team Challenge and other competitive shooting sports. To say the least, he is a fanatic of all shooting sports and the outdoor lifestyle! Living on a ranch, Luke has gained experience in every aspect of ranch management including financing, commodity production, operations, wildlife management and conservation. Luke is a 2011 graduate of Texas A&M University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Finance. In 2009, Luke interned for Sammons McAnally Company, a rural real estate appraisal and real estate sales firm, where he gained the knowledge and experience in the Central and Southwest Texas land markets. In 2010, he interned for the law firm, Dubois, Bryant and Campbell LLC. At the firm, Luke worked on various real estate development projects in Central Texas and was an integral part of the preliminary market research for Battery-Free Outdoors. Luke now lives in Austin, TX and continues to enjoy shooting, hunting and spending time outdoors. |
