Randy Russell - Chief Executive Officer | Founder
Randy is a seasoned entrepreneur and corporate executive. He has spent the past twenty five years in a complement of regional, national and international corporate roles such as CEO, COO, CFO, and SVP Professional Services. Randy was most recently with Haas Outdoors, Inc. as Chief Operating and Financial Officer. Haas Outdoors is the home of the MOSSY OAK® outdoor brand. Mossy Oak and its related products represent approximately $1.0 billion in annual sell-through to retail operations and media markets worldwide. Randy was responsible for corporate strategy, new business development, corporate finance, legal, human resources, business process consulting, and management information technologies. Due to the Company's predominant brand, MOSSY OAK®, and its significant media interests, he developed extensive experience in intellectual property, patents, trademarks, copyrights, television, music, and digital media.
In addition to his senior management responsibilities, Randy led Mossy Oak's media company, Hatch Entertainment. Hatch has produced and managed media content delivered over internet broadband via IPTV and more traditional broadcast networks including ABC, CBS, ESPN2, Golf Channel, The Outdoor Channel, Spike and Versus.
Prior to joining Haas Outdoors, Randy served as Senior Vice President of Professional Services at ePartners. ePartners is an Austin Ventures portfolio company and was the largest Microsoft Business Application partner winning Microsoft's Global Partner of the Year multiple times.
Randy was the founder and CEO for 121 Micro, a Mississippi-based regional consulting and business infrastructure company that was acquired by ePartners. For over thirteen years, 121 Micro was an award-winning consulting firm specializing in business process, accounting technology and custom business internet applications.
Sammie Knight - Chief Marketing Officer | Founder
A lifetime outdoorsman, Sammie has spent the past 15 years in the Outdoor Lifestyle industry. In early 1996 Sammie became a member of the Haas Outdoors team. Haas Outdoors is the home of the MOSSY OAK® outdoor brand. Sammie began his career at Mossy Oak as the Vice President of Licensing and Marketing. Sammie finished his successful tenure with Haas Outdoors serving as the Executive Vice President of Licensing and Sales, leading and building the company's brand royalty business to record levels in the company's twenty four year history. In the industry, Sammie and his team are widely recognized for their contribution in growing Mossy Oak's licensing revenues by several thousand percent. ;Sammie also provided executive leadership in business development and revenue growth of several Mossy Oak ventures including Mossy Oak Bio Logics, Axis Media, and Mossy Oak Properties.
Sammie left Haas Outdoors in 2005 to found a successful international consulting practice focused on the emerging markets in China and the Asian rim. His expertise in the international markets soon brought clients across Asia where he assisted them with various areas of sales, marketing and supply chain operations. Additionally, Sammie acquired and expanded an Oxford Mississippi based real estate company. During the past 4 years Sammie's unique style and skills have produced unprecedented growth for his real estate firm guiding it from the sixth ranked agency in the market to the number one agency in the market, increasing sales four hundred percent in 4 years, despite a difficult and challenging real estate market. Sammie is also a principal owner a property management company as well as a land and timber agency that is a participating member with Cabela's Trophy Properties.
Hugh Sanderson - Board of Directors
Mr. Sanderson worked in various positions at Sanderson Farms Inc., (NASDAQ:SAFM), from 1976 to October 2004, when he retired. Mr. Sanderson also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Sanderson Farms Inc. from January 2000 to November 2005. While employed with Sanderson Farms, Inc., Mr. Sanderson worked in every aspect of the poultry business including production, processing, sales and marketing. The last 15 years before his retirement were spent as Sales Manager (May 1994 to May 2000) and then as Manager of Customer Relations (June 2000 to October 2004). During this period of time, the company grew to its current approximately $1.06 Billion Market Capitalization.
Mr. Sanderson is a lifelong outdoorsman. As Manager of Customer Relations at Sanderson Farms, Inc., one of his responsibilities was planning and implementing hunts in North America. A major part of that responsibility was making certain that each hunter had the best and most suitable gear for that particular hunt and knew how to use it.
Since his retirement he has hunted on several continents with hunters from all over the world. This has allowed him to field test all types of gear and to learn even more about the hunting industry. As a life member of Safari Club International, he has also gained knowledge from the network of contacts he has made through that organization.
Mr. Sanderson has ten years experience in wildlife management, with six years on his own property as well as assisting other farms and ranches. This knowledge is in all aspects of managing feeding programs, harvesting programs, and forest management.
Chris Weidner - Social Media Strategy
Born in Webster, Texas and raised in Houston, Texas, Chris Weidner studied filmmaking and screenwriting under the veteran eye of filmmaker Andy Anderson at the University of Texas at Arlington. Chris worked in a variety of roles on a number of films including his writing/directing debut and festival favorite short film, Newlybleds. He wrote and produced his first feature film, My Comfortable Stranger, which found distribution on DVD through Starling Films. Chris followed his passion for film from the big screen to the computer monitor when he started what has since become the #1 Texas filmmaking community website, ShortFilmTexas.com
While spending summers on his family’s 19,000 acre ranch in Palo Pinto County, Chris developed a respect and love for the land and wildlife. That love grew tenfold after accepting the position of Video Editor for TexasHuntFish.com. Over the last several years, Chris has assumed more leadership roles within the Texas Wildlife Unlimited portfolio. He currently serves as Director of Community Development for TexasHuntFish.com, Director of Social Media Strategy for Outdoor Media Services, and is the Editor of the popular Texas Top Picks Newsletter.
A recreational fisherman and hunter, Chris brings a fresh eye and outlook to the online sportsman community.
Heather Delacoma - Project Manager
Heather began her career in advertising in 2007 at Keller Crescent as a Client Service Representative working on the Evan Williams Bourbon, Vicious Fishing and Red Man Moist Snuff accounts. She was responsible for the day-to-day management of her clients including scheduling, client changes, billing, and all other daily internal or external duties associated with her clients. She was in regular communication with clients and agency account management ensuring that all needs were met and that projects were seen through to completion.
In 2009, Heather pursued a position with Vincennes Insurance where she was responsible for communicating plan benefits and programs to new and current agency clients. Realizing that she missed the advertising industry, her experience working directly with clients as well as her prior time in the agency business lead her to a position with the Shyne Agency.
Heather attended the University of Southern Indiana studying English with an emphasis in Writing and Rhetoric. She was on the Dean’s List and a member of the National Scholars Honor Society.
Growing up, Heather always loved horses and spent as much time at the barn as possible. Having showed American Saddlebreds competitively for 10 years, the love of being around the animals and outside was second nature. She still enjoys getting back in the saddle whenever she can. In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband, Gino, and 2 children.
Luke Sammons - Business Analyst
Born and raised in Texas, Luke Sammons has grown up heavily immersed in the outdoor world. Luke has been competing in shotgun shooting sports for 14 years in 4-H Shooting Sports, NSCA Sporting Clays, Sportsman Team Challenge and other competitive shooting sports. To say the least, he is a fanatic of all shooting sports and the outdoor lifestyle!
Living on a ranch, Luke has gained experience in every aspect of ranch management including financing, commodity production, operations, wildlife management and conservation.
Luke is a 2011 graduate of Texas A&M University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Finance. In 2009, Luke interned for Sammons McAnally Company, a rural real estate appraisal and real estate sales firm, where he gained the knowledge and experience in the Central and Southwest Texas land markets. In 2010, he interned for the law firm, Dubois, Bryant and Campbell LLC. At the firm, Luke worked on various real estate development projects in Central Texas and was an integral part of the preliminary market research for Battery-Free Outdoors.
Luke now lives in Austin, TX and continues to enjoy shooting, hunting and spending time outdoors.
